The walk took place on October 25, 2008. We met in the MUSC/Mills Quad area at McMaster University. After registering, making signs and painting banners, we walked through the streets of Hamilton to raise awareness for the children of Northern Uganda. Though it was a wet, rainy day, it was incredible to see everyone who still wanted to come out and support this cause. These children are being tortured because there is a civil conflict in Northern Uganda that has been taking place for over 20 years. The kids are being abducted from their families and being forced to become child soldiers (boys) and sex slaves (girls). It is truly tragic and we need to stand together against these atrocities.
